Main focus
; Graduates of this master’s programme will be qualified to practice the profession of Telecommunications Engineer as stipulated in the provisions of Ministerial Order CIN/355, 9 February (BOE, 20 February 2009). Accordingly, they will be able to create projects as well as calculate and design products, processes, and installations in all contexts related to telecommunications engineering. They will also have the knowledge and skills to do the following: (i) direct the construction and installation of telecommunications systems; (ii) direct, plan, and supervise multidisciplinary teams; (iii) perform tasks involving mathematical modelling, calculation, and simulation in technological centres and engineering companies; (iv) do work involving the formulation, strategic planning, direction, coordination, and technical and economic management of projects in all spheres of telecommunications engineering, using environmental and quality control criteria; (v) direct R&D projects in businesses and technological centres at both the general and technical levels.;; implementation and management of manufacturing processes electronic and telecommunications equipment, with guaranteed security for persons and property, the final quality of the products and their approval.; ability to understand the ethical responsibility and professional ethics of the activity of the profession of Telecommunications Engineering.; ability to apply principles of economics and the management of human resources and projects, as well as legislation, regulation and standardization of telecommunications.; Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement the necessary legislation in the exercise of the profession of Telecommunications Engineering.
Competences
Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.

Specific admission requirements
Access to this Master’s degree programme, which licenses graduates to practise the profession of Telecommunications Engineering, is granted to students who have previously acquired the competencies included under section 3 of Ministerial Order CIN/352/2009, 9 February (BOE, 20 February 2009), which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that license graduates to practise the profession of Telecommunication Technical Engineering, and whose training is in accordance with section 5 of the aforementioned Ministerial Order. Students with a mother tongue other than Spanish will be required to have a Spanish B2 level or higher, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
