Main focus
; – Acquire the knowledge necessary to provide foundations or the opportunity to be original in the development or application of ideas, often in a research context. – Apply the acquired knowledge and solve problems in new or lesser-known environments within wider (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study. – Integrate knowledge and handle the complexity of making judgements based on incomplete or limited information, and include reflections on social and ethical responsibilities in relation to the application of the acquired knowledge and judgements. – Clearly and unambiguously communicate their findings, as well as the knowledge and reasoning behind them, to specialised and non-specialised audiences. – Acquire learning skills that enable them to continue studying largely in a self-directed or independent way.; – Integrate knowledge of different aspects of movement disorders and formulate scientific conclusions. – Apply the acquired knowledge to the resolution of problems of a multidisciplinary nature, combining concepts of movement disorders and the clinical manifestations of the pathologies involved in them. – Understand the basic principles of movement and learn about diagnostic and therapeutic methods in movement disorders. – Work in a team in a multidisciplinary environment in order to achieve common objectives from different perspectives.; – Learn about evaluation, social inclusion and social policies in populations affected by movement disorders and functional alterations. – Plan, develop and control research results, and know how to use bibliographic information sources. – Learn about the main statistical methods and how to use statistical software. – Know the basic principles of normal and pathological development in children. – Know and understand the basic principles of multidisciplinary intervention programmes in movement disorders and functional alterations.; – Understand neuromuscular diseases and intervention in patients with neuromuscular pathologies. – Understand therapeutic adaptations in patients with movement and functional alterations. – Understand play therapies. – Know the therapeutic advances in pain management. – Learn about psychological approaches, deterioration and care in movement disorders and functional alterations.; – Know the central neurological diseases and neurodegenerative processes and intervention programmes. – Solve practical cases in pathologies that cause movement impairments. – Solve practical cases in pathologies that cause functional alterations. – Learn about interventions in populations affected by movement disorders and functional alterations.
Competences
Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.
