Main focus

; – The processes and instruments that constitute scientific methodology in history of art. – How to manage, analyse, synthesise and transfer information resources related to the history of art and its objects, including knowledge of new ICTs. – The management of historical and artistic heritage in order to compare and distinguish between qualitative historical changes. – The main guidelines, legislation, documents and charters that regulate historical and artistic heritage and the principles that govern its conservation and enhancement. – How to identify the different types of assets that constitute historical and artistic heritage.; – Instruments for ideas and decision-making in the elaboration of intervention projects. – The Andalusian paradigm in its historical and artistic context, as well as its modern and contemporary influence, addressing cultural communication and exchanges, the phenomena of acculturation and miscegenation (mestizaje) while analysing dialogues, relationships and disagreements regarding different political, cultural and social feelings. – How to assess the consequences of interculturality and the integration of different social groups, to conduct critical thinking and identify the Andalusian cultural legacy in its different manifestations and contexts. – Good practices for research activities and the incorporation of the courses taught in the master’s degree into the professional sphere. – How to develop independent and personal work in advanced research on the protection of historical and artistic heritage, survival and cultural exchanges in history of art.; – How to analyse the creation and development of Andalusian art as a historical process from a transdisciplinary approach, in which different legacies shape the discourses and readings. – How to build a complex academic explanation of the construction of identity and multiculturalism from the dominant artistic and cultural discourses regarding the Alhambra of Granada. – How to analyse and synthesise the artistic manifestations of different communities in a shared space (Iberian Peninsula), showing the wealth, complexity and expressions of miscegenation (mestizaje) that are evident in the Andalusian environment and its legacy..

Competences

Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.
