Main focus

; Graduates of this master’s degree will be able to: – Conduct complex preprosthetic surgical techniques. – Identify and resolve the most frequent local complications that occur during and after surgical treatments. – Recognise and manipulate the most common implant systems in both surgical and prosthetic instrumentation. – Identify and apply the indications and contraindications of dental implants. – Manage presurgical and post-surgical pharmacological treatment.; – Identify peri-implant disease and its fundamentals diagnostics and apply the appropriate therapy. – Apply modern computer-assisted surgery techniques. – Identify and know how to handle surgical instruments recently introduced to the market aimed at performing complex techniques. – Use the specific knowledge on coagulation and healing processes of patients in oral cavity surgical treatments. – Recognise the infectious and cystic pathologies located in the maxillary bones and solve them using surgical techniques. – Perform dental extractions of different dental pieces in complex situations. – Accurately diagnose the different salivary gland pathologies that exist.

Competences

Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.
