Main focus
; Graduates of the this master’s degree will be able to: – An understanding of the dynamic and changing nature of employment policies in order to adapt to new situations, especially in the context of economic crisis. – Ability to analyse and understand the different economic, social and cultural dynamics involved in the configuration of regional and local labour markets. – Ability to analyse and diagnose the situation as well as business and labour needs in order to improve employability and meet the needs of the productive system in the territory. – Capacity to elaborate and evaluate strategies and actions of socioeconomic promotion and labour insertion on the labour market in a specific territorial area. – Ability to carry out advisory, representation and negotiation functions in relation to territorial employment policies and socio-labour aspects. – Ability to prepare and implement business projects and initiatives (particularly for self-employment and social economy) and to generate quality employment.; – Capacity to identify, generate synergies and dynamise the main actors and territorial resources that exist at local, regional, national and European levels in the field of employment policies, and to promote the creation of networks and alliances that enable integrated territorial action. – Ability to undertake and follow procedures on employment promotion and local and regional development before public and/or private institutions. – Ability to apply the acquired knowledge to the design and evaluation of employment proposals, programmes and projects (training, guidance, improving employability and entrepreneurship, etc.) adapted to specific territorial realities. – Capacity to develop socio-economic and labour research projects that contribute to the improvement of the design, management and evaluation of employment policies in a specific territorial area. – Ability to create and implement new knowledge management tools in this field. – Ability to manage and direct companies and bodies in the field of employment and centres for information and documentation on employment and local development.
Competences
Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.
