Main focus
; Graduates of this master’s programme will possess an in-depth knowledge of its theoretical premises as well as of experimental techniques that include the following: (i) micro and microstructural characteristics; (ii) histochemical, physiological and molecular aspects; (iii) environmental analysis; (iv) plant biotechnology techniques; (v) post-harvest techniques; (vi) pest management; (vii) symbiosis; and (viii) animal nutrition and well being. Graduates will be capable of scientifically addressing problems from a multidisciplinary perspective that can be usefully applied in the domains of Agriculture, Livestock Breeding, and Aguaculture. They will know how to apply the knowledge acquired as well as methodological and technological research techniques in the area of study. They will also be capable of writing scientific papers related to agriculture, aguaculture, or the farming of any food animal. Finally, graduates will be able to apply their knowledge to agri-food businesses and aguaculture companies.
Competences
Students that have completed the second cycle have the following competencies: – Have demonstrated knowledge and understanding that is founded upon a basis or opportunity for originality in developing and/or applying ideas, often within a research context. – Can apply their acquired knowledge and understanding, and problem solving abilities in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. – Have the ability to integrate knowledge and handle complexity, and formulate judgments with incomplete or limited information, but that include reflecting on social and ethical responsibilities linked to the application of their knowledge and judgments. – Can communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to specialist and non-specialist audiences clearly and unambiguously. – Have the learning skills to allow them to continue to study in a manner that may be largely self-directed or autonomous.
